Kadunud maailm, milles elab Jo Rodgers:
Tema võrratu töölaud, mis on ümbritsetud raamatuvirnadega:
"I've had a dutiful morning at my desk, working to the jingle jangle of next-door's Christmas music, which is broadcasting from a (forgotten, I think) radio in the garden. Now I've scooted away my laptop for a break, which is mince pies and a chapter of The Long Weekend by Adrian Tinniswood (wonderful)."
Jutud, mis ta piltide juurde lisab, on alati nii rahulikud ja kenad,
need teevad ta lood veel idüllilisemaks:
"We pitched through the weekend traffic down to Wiltshire on Friday, eating motoring chocolate (long live Cadbury fruit & nut) and listening to the radio. The countryside is covered in frost and wood smoke. We've been taking freezing walks in the mornings, staying out until our teeth chatter, then lolling in front of the fire to think about lunch."
Kas te teadsite, et kusagil sõidavad inimesed siiamaani selliste rongidega?
Väikesed argipäevased võileivad ja koogid...
"When things become sluggish at my desk, it's a treat to abandon the nubby pullover and moccasins for neat clothes, and walk into town for tea. Small sandwiches and chatty friends are invigorating for the spirits."
Ja veel üks kord tema võrratu töölauake:
"It's been raining in London for three days, a listless drip to make everyone damp, with half-wild hair and flapping umbrellas. This morning I've been enjoying a dry stretch at my desk, eating ginger cake with my stockinged feet on the radiator."
